I was hired to photograph a surprise engagement shoot this past weekend. The shoot was taking place on the bay front, and being historic St. Augustine on a weekend, I had to find parking a good distance away. Carrying my gear for blocks takes some coordination and understanding of what I really need and what I don't. As I was crossing the street to get to my shoot, I saw the noon light hitting the buildings along Cathedral place, and quickly framed up the palm trees to add to the scene rather than distract. Taking a few moment to properly compose the photo can make a huge difference! So I quickly photographed this scene as I was safely in the median and continued my shoot. I call this sort of style of quickly composing my work along my daily trips as "Guerilla Photography", which I started doing while on my bicycle with a cell phone back in 2014. The engagement shoot was a success all around (especially because she said yes!!)
